Some people say that when it rains, it pours. It seems that the blessings do pour for me this past few weeks.
Yesterday we had a company meeting where the new employees were introduced and the promotion papers were handed to several employees as well. I was surprised to find out that I was one of those who got promoted!
Funny though, since during that meeting I was clowning around and having some ice cream (the managers gave a group-wide treat, and it was just a few minutes after break-time). I was still holding that cup of ice cream (I was so shocked I forgot to put it on a table as I went in front) as the promotion paper was handed to me by my manager, prompting my team members to chant “ice cream, ice cream…” while returning to my place.
From Junior Engineering Supervisor, I’m now Engineering Supervisor. New challenges await, and new expectations arise.
