I got an SMS message from a co-employee at work a little after dinner, congratulating me about the Philippine National IT Standards (PhilNITS) examination I took a few weeks ago. I wondered what she meant so I went to the PhilNITS home page to have a look.

Lo and behold, my name is among those listed as passers in the recently held Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination! Imagine how elated I was, knowing that after a long time, I was able to get a certification that is based on technical knowledge.

Do you know what’s the best reward I got out of this? A tight hug from my wife and son.
